Summary

#1 New York Times bestselling author Janet Evanovich returns with the launch of a blockbuster new series that blends wild adventure, hugely appealing characters, and pitch-perfect humor, proving once again why she’s “the most popular mystery writer alive” (The New York Times)。

Lost something? Gabriela Rose knows how to get it back。 As a recovery agent, she’s hired by individuals and companies seeking lost treasures, stolen heirlooms, or missing assets of any kind。 She’s reliable, cool under pressure, and well trained in weapons of all types。 But Gabriela’s latest job isn’t for some bamboozled billionaire, it’s for her own family, whose home is going to be wiped off the map if they can’t come up with a lot of money fast。

Inspired by an old family legend, Gabriela sets off for the jungles of Peru in pursuit of the Ring of Solomon and the lost treasure of Cortez。 But this particular job comes with a huge problem attached to it—Gabriela’s ex-husband, Rafer。 It’s Rafer who has the map that possibly points the way to the treasure, and he’s not about to let Gabriela find it without him。

Rafer is as relaxed as Gabriela is driven, and he has a lifetime’s experience getting under his ex-wife’s skin。 But when they aren’t bickering about old times the two make a formidable team, and it’s going to take a team to defeat the vicious drug lord who has also been searching for the fabled ring。 A drug lord who doesn’t mind leaving a large body count behind him to get it。

The Recovery Agent marks the start of an irresistible new series that will have you clamoring for more and cheering for the unstoppable Gabriela Rose on every page。

I love her Stephanie Plum series on audio, and I was very excited to be able to review the start of her new series, The Recovery Agent。 It has the same narrator, Lorelei King, who happens to be my very favorite audiobook narrator。 She was great again in this novel。Gabriela Rose is a recovery agent and works for clients to retrieve lost treasures or information around the world。 After her hometown is devasted by a hurricane, she decides to try to solve an old family legend and look for the ring of Solomon to raise enough money to repair the town。 Unfortunately, this means that she must look in the home that her ex-husband Rafer received in their settlement。 Rafter is handsome, but also drives Gabriela insane。 He decides he needs to be on this adventure as the map came from his home。 Soon the two are traveling to exotic locals with a madman on their trail。 Will they be able to find the ring and save their hometown? The Recovery Agent was just the type of audiobook I wanted to listen to right now。 It was funny and a great adventure。 It reminded me of Romancing the Stone, but with a more capable heroine。 It had all of the adventure and treasure seeking that I loved in the Indiana Jones and the National Treasure series。 Rafer is kind of a blend of Morelli and Ranger from the Stephanie Plum series, but he seems to lean more towards Morelli。 Rafer and Gabriela have great chemistry。 I love the witty banter throughout the novel。Overall, The Recover Agent is a great new humorous adventure series。 I’m looking forward to the next book。This review was first posted on my blog at: https://lauragerold。blogspot。com/2022。。。 。。。more

🌟 3。5/5🌶 0。25/5📇 I’ve been reading Janet’s Stephanie Plum novels for as long as I can remember。 Thus, I was ecstatic when @netgalley allowed me access to a new series by her that featured a similar (but obviously different) strong female MC。 While not as light-hearted as her Plum novels, there seems to be more substance behind the relationship storyline here, which I enjoyed。The best things:🔹Gabriela is a kick-ass boss woman。 Loved that about her。 She can afford the finer things in life and she 🌟 3。5/5🌶 0。25/5📇 I’ve been reading Janet’s Stephanie Plum novels for as long as I can remember。 Thus, I was ecstatic when @netgalley allowed me access to a new series by her that featured a similar (but obviously different) strong female MC。 While not as light-hearted as her Plum novels, there seems to be more substance behind the relationship storyline here, which I enjoyed。The best things:🔹Gabriela is a kick-ass boss woman。 Loved that about her。 She can afford the finer things in life and she isn’t afraid to own it (I see you La Perla)🔹The banter and undertones between her and Rafer (excited to see where this leads)🔹Pepe and Caballo - they just made me chuckleThe worst things:🔹It was a bit slow to get into and then I felt like it wrapped up too quickly。 Then again, this is a series so there will likely be lots more。 🔹I was getting frustrated with how they would succeed and then fail, but this is also what kept me hooked, so pro/con。 End notes:🔹Worth it - excited to see a new series from Janet and continue to follow Gabriela on her high-stakes adventures! And of course, thank you to Net Galley for this fun ARC! 。。。more

“The Recovery Agent” by Janet Evanovich is Gabriella Rose’s first adventure in print。The action is steady。 The situations are sometimes zany and will remind Evanovich fans of Stephanie Plum’s adventures。 Gabriella and Rafer, and friends, must dodge bullets, evade El Dragon, a Peruvian cult leader of death god Supay, and Peruvian drug lords。 Otherwise, it’s just a normal recovery run in the jungles and the seas off Peru。Join the fun, the laughs, and the adventures of Gabriella and Rafer。 Janet Ev “The Recovery Agent” by Janet Evanovich is Gabriella Rose’s first adventure in print。The action is steady。 The situations are sometimes zany and will remind Evanovich fans of Stephanie Plum’s adventures。 Gabriella and Rafer, and friends, must dodge bullets, evade El Dragon, a Peruvian cult leader of death god Supay, and Peruvian drug lords。 Otherwise, it’s just a normal recovery run in the jungles and the seas off Peru。Join the fun, the laughs, and the adventures of Gabriella and Rafer。 Janet Evanovich has another hit series on her hands。 Evanovich has her style and adventure formula well set up。 An argumentative love match, a thrilling adventure, and a lot of trouble along the way。 Oh yes, this one features advice from a ghost。Thanks to Simon & Schuster for this Goodreads Giveaway ARC win! to read and review。 。。。more

👍🏼👍🏼 Janet Evanovich has done it again! I loved falling into Gabriella Rose’s world! This book was just okay for me。 I liked that it wasn't a super long read, but it just wasn't really that exciting to me。 If you enjoy other books by this author, I would assume that you will enjoy this as well。 The characters were not extremely likeable for me and I didn't feel that I really got to know them, which is important to me。 This book was just okay for me。 I liked that it wasn't a super long read, but it just wasn't really that exciting to me。 If you enjoy other books by this author, I would assume that you will enjoy this as well。 The characters were not extremely likeable for me and I didn't feel that I really got to know them, which is important to me。 。。。more

A great departure for Ms Evanovich。 I have been a fan forever。 This new character is as detailed as her others and Rafer is a keeper。 Gabriela is no slouch , she recovers items for a price, and this ring might just be too hot an item to handle。 Add an ex who knows just the moment to irritate and the fun never stops。 The villain is especially vicious and the jungle unforgiving。 It’s perfect。 It’s funny。 It’s very readable。

Gabriela is an insurance fraud investigator。 When her grandmother sees a ghost, it directs Gabriela to a treasure chest that has information on a long list ring。 Unfortunately for her, the chest is at her ex husbands house。 Together, they fly all over the world trying to obtain the ring。OpinionI’m true Evanovich fashion, this book is a hilarious, action packed adventure。 If you are a fan of the Stephanie Plum series, this is right up your alley。 The tension between Gabriela and Rafer (her ex) is Gabriela is an insurance fraud investigator。 When her grandmother sees a ghost, it directs Gabriela to a treasure chest that has information on a long list ring。 Unfortunately for her, the chest is at her ex husbands house。 Together, they fly all over the world trying to obtain the ring。OpinionI’m true Evanovich fashion, this book is a hilarious, action packed adventure。 If you are a fan of the Stephanie Plum series, this is right up your alley。 The tension between Gabriela and Rafer (her ex) is a fabulous diversion to the dangers they put themselves in。 The support characters have some major flaws that work to the couples advantage。 This is a great summer read, just perfect to sit and relax with。Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this book。 。。。more

I love a good Janet Evanovich book so I was very excited when I received a copy of this book through a Goodreads giveaway。 I enjoy Janet’s laid back, funny, easy going with a mysterious twist style of writing and have read almost all of the Stephanie Plum series。 This new series is different, but it also feels familiar and I, personally, really enjoyed it。

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read in exchange for an honest review。 I used to love Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series but I has been getting stale and repetitive。 This is a fresh new character and some pretty exciting scenarios。 Gabriella Rose finds and recovers lost artifacts and information (expensive jewelry, proof of insurance fraud)。 She is witty and capable (doesn't blunder into situations like Plum)。 There was a lot of unnecessary information (gu Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read in exchange for an honest review。 I used to love Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series but I has been getting stale and repetitive。 This is a fresh new character and some pretty exciting scenarios。 Gabriella Rose finds and recovers lost artifacts and information (expensive jewelry, proof of insurance fraud)。 She is witty and capable (doesn't blunder into situations like Plum)。 There was a lot of unnecessary information (gun models, car makes) that didn't really add to the story。 I would give this series a shot for sure。 。。。more

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review。Gabriela's family home town has been hit by a category 4 storm and needs repair。 Gabriela's grandma Fanny believes the town can be rebuilt with $15 million。 The only problem they don't have that kind of money。 However, Gabriela is a recovery agent, and if she can find the lost Ring of Solomon thought to be in Peru she could save the town。 The only problem her ex-husband has the map that could point her in the direc Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review。Gabriela's family home town has been hit by a category 4 storm and needs repair。 Gabriela's grandma Fanny believes the town can be rebuilt with $15 million。 The only problem they don't have that kind of money。 However, Gabriela is a recovery agent, and if she can find the lost Ring of Solomon thought to be in Peru she could save the town。 The only problem her ex-husband has the map that could point her in the direction of the lost treasure。 Along the way they come across a crazed drug lord and chaos pursues。I have loved the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich but I may have a new favorite series。 Much like the Stephanie Plum series The Recovery Agent is a fun light read。The journey Gabriela Rose takes you on is quite the adventure。 I loved the history of the lost treasure, and the paranormal aspects of ghost Annie。 The characters each have there own fun personalities。 I love that Gabriela is a smart badass that can take care of herself。 Rafer is a good supportive character that is manly enough to let Gabriela do her thing but is there for her if she needs assistance。 I look forward to the next book in the series。 。。。more

Thank you Netgalley and Atria Books for the chance to read The recovery agent by Janet Evanovich。 This is a brand new series featuring Gabriela Rose who was featured in Stephanie Plum 27, Fortune & Glory。 I will admit I have fallen a bit behind Stephanie's series so I went into this book with no background information, but I didn't have too much trouble getting into the story。 I found this was more of an action adventure series, with Gabriela being a much more put together recovery agent, knowin Thank you Netgalley and Atria Books for the chance to read The recovery agent by Janet Evanovich。 This is a brand new series featuring Gabriela Rose who was featured in Stephanie Plum 27, Fortune & Glory。 I will admit I have fallen a bit behind Stephanie's series so I went into this book with no background information, but I didn't have too much trouble getting into the story。 I found this was more of an action adventure series, with Gabriela being a much more put together recovery agent, knowing what to do, and not bumbling and stumbling into success like Stephanie did。 I did like the story, but found it a bit slow in parts, and it was missing one thing the Stephanie series had。。。。Ranger! That being said I will continue to check out this series。 。。。more

I am a huge Janet Evanovich fan。 Gabriela Rose was a blend of Stephanie Plum, Kate, and Riley Moon。 Fast paced and action packed, Gabriela ventures in to jungles, caves, volcanos, and more to recover the Seal of Solomon。 It's rumored the ring will make the people and powers of Earth bend to your wishes。 But she isn't the only after the seal。 When her ex-husband Rafer joins in the hunt, things get interesting and heated! I can't wait to see what other treasure Gabriela will hunt for next!
